MARAGHEH -- Over 5,000 tons of agricultural products were exported from Maragheh, in the southwestern Province of East Azarbaijan, in the past three months of the Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2002).

The Director General of Maragheh's Standard and Industrial Research Department, Mohammad Madadi, told IRNA on Sunday that the exports had a total value of Rls.18,603 billion.

Madadi further said that the commodities were exported to France, Morocco, China, Germany, Russia, Netherlands, Iraq, Canada, Bulgaria, Belgium, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Romania and Hong Kong.

"Maragheh's total non-oil exports for the period showed a boost of 2,000 tons compared to those of the same period in the previous year," Madadi pointed out.
